WCRC/FA Meeting Minutes – February 26, 2004 –
* Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M.
* Roll Call - 30 Members present
* Minutes of January meeting were read, Nick approved the minutes
* Ric DeBastos has the job of insuring Robert's rules of Order are followed during the meetings. It is not necessary to make a motion to approve the minutes, therefore, Nick Maggio approved them.
* The Treasureres report was read and approved by Nick Maggio.
* Club mail: A Thank You note from John
Weber's family was read.
An announcement for the 8th annual All Electric Fly-in was read.
* One guest: Kevin Keaton
* Safety: Ed Berchtold talked about using Li Ion batteries safely.
* Tom Speelman reported on the new web site which has the new by-laws and constitution.
* Tom Haake invited members to join the trip the Washington DC for the new Air and Space Museum on April 25th.
* The East Coast Hobby show is Mar 27 and 28.
* Bob Sussna, Alain Wouters, and Mike Ornstein were given their First Flight pin.
* All Weather fliers got their patches, Bill Kellerman, Dave Trabert, Tom Speelman, John Kukon, Nick Maggio.
* New Business
* Creek Hobbies is closed.
* Marty, the owner of Action Hobbies, will
speak to the club in March.
* New position: Vice President. Three
people were nominated:
John Gallager, Wayne Berens, Bill Kellerman
* Motion to close nominations, Bob Sussna, second, Jon Radway
* Jim Larking requested a change in the
By-Laws: The essence of the change is that guest are to be invited and have a limited number of times they can fly
at the field. One of the main
concerns is responsibility of the members. This change will be discussed at the March meeting.
* Bob Scott suggested that when a member dies, the $100 dollar field fee be returned to the widow, or if a member quits with a written letter he also will recieve the feild fee. More discussion to follow
* Membership report: There are 63 members, 84 % of the 75 max, 40 from NJ and 23 from PA
* 50/50...$17 to the winner, Tom Pfeffer
* Dave Schoen gave an informative presentation on building and using a foam cutter. He had several examples that showed the impressive capabilities of his machine.
