WCRC Meeting Minutes – May 27, 2004 –

 

·        Meeting called to order at 7:00 P. M.

·        Roll Call; 19 members present

·        Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted

·        The treasurers report was read and accepted

·        Three guests were present; Jim Vale, Dave Vale, and Benoit Cortet

·        Tom Speelman explained some new additions to our website

·        John Gallagher reported that the Club now has 44 Members from NJ, 24 from Pa, 5 Social Members, and 10 Junior Members for a total of 68 Members

·        OLD BUSINESS

·        The work party was attended by 21 members. The driveway was repaired, tall grass was trimmed, and the Field was tidied up

·        The trip to the Udvar-Hazy museum was very nice. John Kukon reported that the facility is very modern with a wide variety of airplanes on display

·        The library static display will be on June 5th from 9:30 to 12:30 with electric flying behind the Library

·        Opening day at the field will be on June 12th, beginning at 11:00 A. M. Food will be available and flying contests will be conducted

 

·        Rick Debastos donated a gas grill to the Club; Nick purchased a fresh gas bottle

 

·        A new anemometer is installed on top of the flagpole. Wind speed and gust information is available on the readout

 

·        NEW BUSINESS

 

·        AMA was mailed a copy of the award our Club received from the Park System. The announcement was placed on the AMA website by Dave Mathewson, our district VP

 

·        Two new safety benches have been added to the flightline at the Field

 

·        The Mercer County club will host their annual Jumbo Jamboree fly-in on Saturday and Sunday, May 29, 30

 

·        Two new members were voted into the Club; Jim and Dave Vale

 

·        Tom Speelman had a STEVENS AEROMODELS  kit of the GROOVE. It has a 45in. wingspan; G480

 

·        The 50/50 was won by Lester Karsan; $16.00

 

·        Tom Pfeffer told of a helicopter museum in West Chester, Pa

 

·        The next Meeting will be at the field, providing it does not rain. The July and August meetings will also be at the Field

 

·        Meeting adjourned at 8:20 P. M.
