WCRC Meeting Minutes – July 29, 2004 -

• Meeting held at our field; began at 7:09 P.M.
• Roll Call ; 32 members present
• 2 Guests ; Nancy Effrig and Steve Dinnerman were present
• Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted
• John Kukon told us about his injured shoulder and his recovery timeline
• The treasurer’s report was presented and accepted
• A letter from the park was read requesting more minutes on the cell phone that the club provided for them last year.
• An invitation for the “Wings over Piper” fun fly was read
• An Invitation for the “Summerset Signal Seekers” electric fun fly was read.
• Dean Pappas regaled us with his shock flyer build.
• Nick and John K shared information regarding the Burlington clubs loss of their field.
• Nick Maggio read Dave Mathewson’s declaration of Candidacy for his run for AMA President.

• NEW BUSINESS
• A motion was made to provide the park with additional cell phone minutes; 23 voted for; 7 voted against; 2 abstained. The Motion was carried.
• The park has asked WCRC to present a static show and answer questions about RC for 1.5 hours before the show at the Open Air Theater in the park on August 27,28 (Friday and Saturday). Nick requested volunteers, 7 people volunteered.
• Tome Haake talked about the Federation’s need for ideas to bring “New blood” into the Hobby via Shows, Auctions, Competitions and Events (fun flys). Several members offered suggestions. Dean Pappas offered a promising idea best described as traveling club based team events.
• There is an article in the August issue of Air and Space which talks about turbine powered RC models and includes a reference to the early “PULSE jet” engines that several of the member have had experience with.

• Meeting ended at 8:15 P.M.
