WCRC Meeting Minutes - August 30, 2007 -

 

·        Meeting at the Field called to order at 7:05 P. M.

·        Roll Call; 27 Members present

·        Minutes of the July meeting were read and accepted

·        Treasurers report was presented

·        Six guests were present; Craig Picinich, Mike Kelly, Rob Lyndall, Russ

·        Hoffmann, Frank Schwartz, and Bob Milwicz

·        A Spread Spectrum Disc from HORIZON HOBBIES showing it's capabilities

     was received

·        Our Fall Picnic will be held at the field on September 16th

·        QUIET FLYER Magazines with subscription applications were received

·        The CAP encampment will be on Sept. 6, 7, & 8th at the Mercer Club Field

·        A CAP event conference call will be held on Sunday, Sept. 2nd

·        The application package for AMA Gold Club membership has been mailed

·        Nick purchased trainer cords for any Transmitter; will be stored in the shed

·        Nick suggested the Club By-Laws be ammended to define our Flight training

     program including the availability of buddy box assistance for those that ask

·        The Impound Shed door has been repaired

·        Our driveway repair and weed control will be addressed in September

·        The IRS has mailed us a form 990EZ to be filled out on line. It deals with

     account balance, capital equipment, membership, charities, etc.

·        The Delaware Valley Federation of Model Aero Clubs will cease to exist as of

     January 1st, 2008. It was founded by long time modeler Jim VanSant. Excess

     funds will be donated to the Delaware Air Museum at Willow Grove, PA

·        HAMKEY Fly's will be held in November and December at the Field

·        One new member was voted into the club; Craig Picinich. Unanimous vote

·        Mercer Club Notes: Sky Party, Sept 7th, Warbirds Contest Sept. 15 and 16th,

     Sept 22nd ELECTRIC FLY

·        Doc Eubanks reported that on Saturday, August 25th, he was at the field alone  

     and saw an impressive sight. A B-17, a B-24, and a B-25 flew over the field in      

     succession. They were a part of the exhibit that comes to Mercer Airport each   

     year.

·        Tom Haake announced a bus trip to the Air and Space Museum on October

     21st. Cost is $42.00 each.
