WCRC Meeting Minutes - Jan. 31, 2008 -

 

·                 Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M.

·                 Roll Call; 27 members present

·                 Minutes of the October 2007 meeting were read and accepted

·                 Two guests present; Manual Trujillo and Maggie MacLellan

·                 Treasurers Report was presented

·                 Nick outlined the new Dues collection system used this year. The method worked very well.

·                 Tom Speelman proposed that the Club purchase a target plane to be used for the ZAGI combat events. A new plane would cost approx. $250.00. It was proposed to limit the cost to $200.00 per year. Tom Speelman made motion to purchase the plane; Ed Berchtold seconded. The vote was unanimous in favor.

·                 The November Hamkey was rained out; the December event was a spectacular success.

·                 The first flight certificates will be awarded at the February meeting

·                 Our District VP, Dave Mathewson, is now the AMA President

·                 The club has one loc8tor tag unit in stock at present

·                 NEW BUSINESS:

·                 Doris Rees, Dave's wife, passed away; Nick sent condolences on behalf of the Club

·                 CAP program; there were write-ups in two Model Magazines. The program will be expanded in 2008. South Jersey Heli Flyers and the Philly Flyers U/C Club will participate in the program this August.

·                 Mark Goresky was the first to fly in 2008.

·                 Frank Wozniak donated 2 VHS tapes to the Club Library.

·                 Nick made a motion to purchase a $1000.00, 1 year, CD; Tom Speelman seconded. The vote was unanimous.

·                 Tom Haake reported that the left over money from the DVFMAC organization was donated to the aircraft Museum at Willow Grove, PA.

·                 The 50/50 was won by Ric DeBastos; $20.00

·                 Meeting ended at 8:30 PM
