WCRC Meeting Minutes - July 26, 2007 -

 

·        Meeting at the Field called to order at 7:00 P. M.

·        Roll Call; 18 members present

·        Minutes of the June Meeting were read

·        Treasurers Report was presented

·        Club mail included a thank you from the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen for our donation of $100.00 and an electric contest flyer from Bloomfield, Connecticut on July 28, 2007

·        Three guests were present; Craig Picinich, Russ Hoffman, Jeevan Babu

·        Spread Spectrum tags have been added to the Frequency Board; 2.4 Ghz flyers need to use them

·        The canopy was repaired using black pipe donated by Social Member, Larry Thiel

·        The CAP program will be at the Mercer Club Field on September 7, 8, 9, beginning on Friday at 5:00 P. M. Saturday will be Cadet training from 9:00 A. M. to 7:00 P. M. Training completion will be on Sunday from 10:00 A. M. to 2:00 p. M.

·        A permanent endowment was received by the State Parks to keep the Parks open in time of financial crisis

·        NEW BUSINESS

·        The Park will cut grass in the approach area of our Flying Field to help keep brush from getting out of control

·        The Park Superintendent received a call from a neighbor across Church Road about a model flying over her house in early May on a Sunday afternoon. He will return the call saying the Club was notified

·        The Park people are very happy that we comply with the no-fly times during scheduled Park activity

·        A suggestion was made to report any non-normal activity at the field and include reporting lost airplanes

·        A suggestion was made to re-lock the gate after entering the field

·        The revised rules for qualifying for a Leader Club status will require one requirement to be waived; that of unlimited AMA member approval. Nick will investigate with our district VP.

·        Senior Member flying skills at the Field were discussed. Spotters are always available for the asking. Buddy box assistance is available. Nick will purchase additional cords to store in the shed so that all types of Transmitters can be accommodated.

·        Ed Berchtold reminded all about important Safety issues when Flying

·        Nick read aloud Tom Haake's e-mail regarding his encounter with a "Bear." Turns out the "Bear" was the shadow from our Wind Sock at the field that crept up on Tom.

·        Our Fall picnic will be on September 16, 2007

·        Meeting adjourned at 8:21 P. M.
