WCRC Meeting Minutes – May 26, 2005 –

 

·  Meeting called to order at 7:00 p. M.

·  Roll Call; 24 Members present

·  Minutes of the previous meeting were read

·  Treasurers report was presented

·  One guest was present ~ Peter Maclellan

·  Nick thanked the Members that helped at the Field work party

·  The driveway has been repaired with our existing gravel; Rick Debastos brought along his KUBOTA machine to move the gravel from our Township supplied pile

·  NEW BUSINESS:

·  The Library Show will be on June 4th. We will provide a static model show, build egg carton gliders, and fly R/C models at the High School athletic Field behind the library. 

·  Our Opening day will be on June 12th at the Field. Start time is 12 Noon with Food, Flying, and raffles

·  Because there are no garbage cans at the field, take all of your garbage home with you. Some articles have been deposited in the impound shed

·  John Kukon has fabricated a new Frequency Board using engraved flags from AMA. These should provide a more durable board than the one with paper flags that we have been using

·  Nick is compiling an updated list of Members’ radio frequencies

·  The website weather forecast is “stuck.” Keith is working on it

·  Nick built and donated a T-52 with radio to the Club to be used as a trainer

·  The Mercer Club will have their ¼ scale Jamboree on Saturday and Sunday over the Memorial day weekend

·  The Park Ranger delivered a Park Flyer Model to us that was found at the Battlefield Park in Princeton. It is in our tractor shed awaiting the owner

·  Park Personnel have sprayed weed killer at the field to control weeds

·  A new Hobby Shop has opened in Jackson, NJ

·  Action Hobbies is proposing a move to Rt. 1, near radio Shack, in Fairless Hills. Target date is June 15th. He promises lower prices.

·  Wayne Berens presented a report of Aviation history at Mercer Airport

·  Certificates for the first flight of 2005 on New Years day were presented to participating members by John Gallagher.

·  Wayne Berens showed how a simple sanding stick could be fabricated

·  The May 50/50 was won by Pete Reichlin; $19.00

·  A scroll saw, donated by Pete Swasay, was won by Michael Ornstein

·  OUR JUNE, JULY, AND AUGUST MEETINGS WILL BE HELD AT THE FIELD. Start time is 7:00 P. M.

·  Meeting ended at 8:45 P. M.
