WCRC Meeting Minutes - May 31, 2007 -
· Meeting called to order at 7:00 P. M.
· Roll Call; 19 Members Present
· Minutes of the April Meeting were read and accepted
· The Treasurers Report was presented
· One guest was present; Travis Weber
· Our Work party was a success; the Field is in great shape for this season
· The Club had 6 volunteers for the Park's History Fair
· The Boy Scout/ Girl scout demos were well attended. The buddy box flying was appreciated. Dave Vale and Ric Debastos explained the fundamentals of aeronautics to those in attendance
· The Driveway will be repaired by Ric's Son when he has a window of opportunity
· The CAP program with our club is progressing slowly. The Mercer club will get involved. A meeting will be held shortly with the principle members of each Club and the head of the CAP group in NJ
· Opening Day; we may hold the event a week earlier next year to get it away from Memorial Day; perhaps a week after Mother's Day. The event was a success. Pete VonJaglinsky cooked the food. The rocket challenge went well. Bob Sussna won the AVISTAR ARF
· NEW BUSINESS:
· Library Show will be on June 9th; 10:30 to 1:30
· Drinking water will be stored in the Shed for the Summer
· Reminder; Members need to get their photo and profile to Pete MacLellan for the website
· Travis Webber was voted into the Club by a unanimous vote
· WEBCAM information: 2 phase installation (1) camera on web (2) weather data; camera would be on a mast with a weather enclosure; need a cell phone card through a provider w/router; daytime use only; funding will be through club treasury; costs will include free camera donated by Pete Mac, hardware $160.00 - $235.00; monthly charges for router $60.00 per month; if we rescind in the first 2 year period the penalty will be $170.00; first 30 days are free. Four people can view at a time.
· Phase 2: pan/tilt camera; weather data station; both need more power than we have available; both need more charging capacity
· A motion was made and seconded to pursue the system. A discussion followed with the pros and cons associated with the system.
· A vote of the membership was taken after the discussion; 7 in favor, 11 against, 1 abstention (social member) Therefore the system will not be constructed and installed.
· Dave vale brought in fuel tanks and props for anyone to take
· The 50/50 was won by Travis Webber - $13.00
· Our next 3 meetings, (June, July, August), will be at the Field, weather permitting. If rain, return to the library
