WCRC Meeting Minutes - October 25, 2007 -
· Meeting at the Library was called to order at 7:00 PM
· Roll Call; 24 Members present
· Minutes of the September Meeting were read
· Treasurers report was presented
· AMA elections are coming up; our district VP, Dave Mathewson is running for President
· Two Hamkies are coming up; November 18th, and December 9th, 2007. Food will be served at noon, flying starts at 1:00 PM; prize drawing will be at 3:00 PM
· A discussion regarding more prizes for the Hamkeys resulted in some wanting more, some wanting fewer. The prizes will remain at 3 Turkeys and 3 Hams.
· A discussion regarding the Club purchase of a T-52 target plane for ZAGI night was tabled until the January meeting
· Club certificates and plaques will be displayed in our impound shed; photos will be added to the website
· AMA dues for 2007 are due; please renew as soon as possible
· NEW BUSINESS:
· CAP discussion; student success rate improves greatly once their ability to fly without taking control from them is achieved. PHILLY FLYERS put on a control line flying demonstration
· A suggestion was made to place an advertisement in the Library suggesting help flying of models received by the local public for Christmas
· The Field driveway has been re-graveled and leveled. Ric Debastos and his son provided the labor. Thank you, Ric
· Depending on our final treasury tally, we may not purchase a CD this year
· Nick reviewed the events we sponsor during the year. The feeling by the membership is that we continue at our present level as long as we spread out the load across the membership.
· John Kukon made a motion for the club to purchase a loc8ator system along with some tags. Jerry Fat seconded. The hand held unit is $99.00, including 2 tags. A pack of 2 tags is $45.00. 15 voted in favor, 1 against. The hand held unit will be in the Impound shed; a tag will cost $22.00 and can be transferred to each of your models flown.
· Our Gold Leader Club plaque from AMA was shown. Each member present received a Gold Leader Club member pin. John Kukon has the pins for members that were not present.
· One new member was unanimously voted into the Club, Bob Milwicz
· John Hitchner showed a "puffed" but not exploded Li-Poly battery. Puffed batteries are not to be used again
· The 50/50 was won by Lester Karsan; $14.00
· Meeting ended at 8:40 PM
