WCRC Meeting Minutes - September 27, 2007 -

 

·        Meeting at Library called to order at 7:00 P. M.

·        Roll Call; 20 Members present

·        Minutes of the August Meeting read

·        Treasurers Report was presented

·        Two guests were present: Russ Hoffman and Bob Milwicz

·        Nick reported on the CAP encampment at the Mercer Club Field. Flying was intense for the 3 days. The CAP provided .40 size gas powered airplanes; one was crashed, two survived. Certificates were presented to the Cadets, WCRC received a copy of a certificate of appreciation. The WCRC Club was the driving force behind the Mercer Club getting involved.

·        Our Fall picnic was a big success with perfect weather. Pete VonJaglinsky was the cook; 35 members were present with 10 guests.

·        On Saturday, September 29th, Nick and John will attend a Volunteer recognition ceremony with the State Park Service at Waterloo Village, in Northern NJ.

·        The Club will formalize our Flight training program and include the plan in our by-laws. One more dedicated instructor is needed on Wednesday evenings.

·        The November and December Hamkeys will tentatively be on Nov. 11th and Dec. 17th

·        The fall no-fly dates and times were received from the Park. Nick will send out reminder e-mails.

·        NEW BUSINESS:

·        A noise complaint was received from Chuck Conrad on Nedsland Avenue. He also filed a complaint 4 years ago. The issue was raised and members were reminded of our flight boundaries.

·        Bob Sussna replaced the stolen soldering iron from the shed.

·        Bob Hunt in the October 2007 issue introduced Dean Pappas in Model Aviation magazine.

·        One new member was voted into the Club, Russ Hoffman, by a unanimous vote

·        Frank Wozniak  received a first flight pin for his Solo flying ability

·        Dave Mathewson, our district VP, is running for AMA President. Dave Brown will not seek re-election

·        Tom Speelman proposed that the Club purchase an airplane to be used as the target drone for "ZAGI NIGHT." Seventy two dollars from volunteer donations of previous "ZAGI NIGHT" activities was donated to our Club Treasury

·        Members for 2008 Officers included Nick Maggio for President, Pete VonJaglinsky for Vice President, and John Kukon for Secretary/Treasurer

·        Ric DeBastos moved that the group be voted in by acclamation; Pete Zaremba seconded

·        The three candidates will be the 2008 Club Officers.

·        The 50/50 was won by John Hitchner; $14.00. He donated $12.00 to the Club Treasury

·        Meeting adjourned at 8:32 P. M.
