WCRC Meeting Minutes - August 31, 2006 -

 

·        Meeting at Field called to order at 7:30 P. M.

·        Roll Call; 24 members present

·        Minutes of the July meeting were read

·        Treasurers report for July was presented

·        No Club mail was received

·        2 Guests present; John Galbraith, John Pruszkowski

·        The Corn Roast will be combined with the Picnic due to a rain out on the 27th of August

·        Nick thanked the members that participated in the open air theater presentation. The Club received a Park certificate for the effort.

·        The park rangers are now park police under DEP. The hope is that the NJ State Police take over the group.

·        Noted speed flyer, Jim VanSant passed away in August

·        Vince Carroll had a quad heart bypass operation; all is well

·        Pete Swasay is recovering well from his heart surgery

·        Our annual picnic will be on September 10, 2006; start time is 12:00 PM

·        Olivier Marsaly is no longer a Club member; he has moved to France

·        NEW BUSINESS:

·        A new limb trimmer has been added to our airplane retriever tool set

·        The canopy will be restructured with smaller tarp sections allowing some air pressure relief during storms

·        Bruce Wutke raked and repaired the washout in our driveway-good job

·        Officer nominations for 2007

·        President - Nick Maggio

·        Vice President - Bill Kellermann, Pete VonJaglinsky

·        Secretary/Treasurer - John Kukon

·        A discussion was started suggesting a constitutional change to move new officers installation to the first meeting in January. No action was taken

·        Ed Berchtold gave a talk on Field Safety while performing our activities. He pointed out the AMA safety code plus our Club safety equipment at the Field. Call 609-737-3100 in case of an emergency. Hopewell Township police will answer; say this is an emergency.

·        Use extreme care at the field. John Hitchner mentioned that a PA club member had a finger removed by the prop while starting a .60 size engine

·        The NEAT fair will be on 9/14 through 9/16 in Downsville, NY

·        A quarter scale war birds fly-in will be held at the Mercer Club Field on Sept 16, and 17th

·        Next meeting will be at the library on September 28th

·        Meeting adjourned at 8:25 P. M.
