WCRC Meeting Minutes – August 28, 2003 –


Meeting held at the Club Field; called to order at 7:10 P. M.
Roll Call ~ 29 members present
Minutes of the previous meeting were read; Mark Goresky made motion to accept, Fred Smith seconded
Treasurers report was read; Tom Haake made motion to accept, Tom Speelman seconded
Club mail included a Flyer announcing a Helicopter contest in NY, a new Model Magazine being published, and receipt of our Special Use permit from the Park
Four guests were present; Duke Ravel, Gerry Fat, Chris Baumbach, and Bob Sussna
Wayne Berens has the Club tape library in his car; see him for rentals
Our annual club Picnic will be at the field on Sunday, September 14, beginning at 12:00 Noon
We have a new solo member; Dale Hurley
Our next meeting will be at the Library
Nick is in the process of getting the All Season Flyer patches
OLD BUSINESS:
First Aid – Nick called 911 about a deer that was hit near our field entrance; not a good response. Better to call Hopewell Police. The number is posted in the impound shed.
John Weber had a ½ page article published in the Bucks County Courier Times. He got a ride in a B-17
Bill Kellerman had an Angioplast performed in the hospital
Jim VanSant has lung and some breathing problems
Be sure your AMA number or address is on your models, or AMA will not pay if an accident occurs
Dean Pappas received a plaque from the Roxbury MAC for his past and continued contribution to the Hobby
The weather Station folks donated their old Sensor mast to the club
Jerry Fat made a Solar Cell array available to the Club for charging the batteries in the shed. Kip Leming replaced the aging batteries with new ones
There will be an electric fun fly at the mercer Club Field. See flyer on Bulletin board
We received a noise complaint from folks on Nedsland Road. Nick showed a map outlining the field, range poles, and location and direction of residence that sent noise complaint. The range poles are the limits of our flying area and are about 600 feet away in each direction from the pilot stations. We should also be flying no farther than 250 feet into the woods
Dave Traybert made motion to adjourn the meeting; Fred Smith seconded. Meeting adjourned at 7:55 P. M.
